blue sea and a red umbrella

The future seen in one's vision could be cloudy and dark. But, when one is having joy out of what she or he is doing at the moment, one could march forward without worrying too much about what is to happen in the future.
The week away to take a break from all the works I've been doing has actually brought me quite a lot of inspiration for my works.
I was on a day trip (or one and a half) to Milan, there was an exhibition called, "L'aqua" with Bill viola's works and all others related to the nature of water from the Greek era to modern days. First, it was quite shocking to see Bill Viola's recent works of "water" because most of them had the qualities or the looks of my water-drop piece. First, I came to question my originality and was quite disappointed. But thinking about the fact that the look isn't the only part about my project but the context of my work is what differs mine from his works put me in peace. By the end of the show, I rather came to ponder upon the concept of the nature of water, and I could take myself apart from being stuck on the idea of using the literal water drops on the ground as the bottom piece of my work. I was ready to bring some refreshing change to my piece, and today, I took a short trip to Cinque terre to contain a little piece of the ocean into my camera.
Also, on the Milan trip, while I was telling Alex about how I often feel suspended in the air due to the coexisting (but not really rooted in one or the other) cultures inside me, I was reminded how I always wanted to express that feeling in my work. so, I've taken a few clips about that after I got back as well (which includes the video with a strand of flower and olive branch on the concrete street, a bright neon red umbrella hanging on a vain wall and etc.).
After all, some "time-off" wasn't such a bad idea since now I am not worrying too much about what is to happen in the future but fully enjoying the works I do.
Here are the photos and videos that briefly demonstrate what I've been up to!
